Timaru waterfront workers are taking a stand for local jobs at Port Timaru this afternoon and mounting a picket on the cement ship Nan Chang Hai at around 4pm.
A local cement loading contract has been given to out of town Mainland Stevedoring and their bussed in employees.

Bluff waterfront workers began picketing at around 11am this morning against Mainland Stevedores who arrived in South Port around midday to work on the log boat "Amber Wave."
