Memorial Service for T.S.M.V Kaitawa

A memorial service will be held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the collier MV Kaitawa off Cape Reinga on 23 May 1966 with the loss of all 29 crew members, one of New Zealand’s worst maritime disasters.

The service is to be held at the Auckland Seafarers Centre, 114 Quay Street, 23 May 2016 at 11:00am

Members past and present, and friends, are welcome to join your comrades at the Maritime Union of New Zealand Auckland office at 29-31 Anzac Ave at 10:30am to join together and make our way down to the memorial service and lay a wreath commemorating our lost comrades.
